Research Methodology
Research methodology training is provided to all new AspireMED students prior to the assignment of a project. It aims to:
-
Familiarize the students with the different types of scientific articles
-
Teach the fundamentals of scientific writing
-
Explain the process of submitting an article for publication
-
Provide the students with the opportunity to participate in Journal Club sessions and understand how to critically appraise the literature
This is achieved through a series of weekly lectures on relevant topics and the bimonthly Journal Club. Participation in the research methodology lectures is mandatory for all new AspireMED students that wish to participate in research projects. Participation in the Journal Club sessions is optional but strongly encouraged.
AspireMED also organises a series of lectures with invited experts on several scientific topics such as biostatistics and epidemiology.
